Healthcare

Healthcare costs rose 7.1% in 2025. Last year was even higher! As a finance/accounting professional for 30+ years, I know that healthcare costs drive everyday decision-making of all Utahns.

Rising premiums are a burden we must address - reducing healthcare premiums isn’t just a financial win for families—it’s an investment in a healthier, more productive workforce and a more resilient Utah economy

High prescription drug costs, lowering prescription drug costs, which rose 9-11%, in 2025 is essential to ensuring people can access the medications they depend on to stay healthy, productive, and fully engaged in their communities. I am mindful particularly of those on fixed incomes who struggle to manage rising Medicare costs

Eliminate social service cuts that affect healthcare, such as ensuring matching funds continue flowing which keeps Medicaid premiums, co-pays, and state-level healthcare costs from rising, protection of hospital funding, and targeted interventions to reduce high medical prices, particularly prescriptions
